Set up your day in a powerful way
Do you have a morning ritual that includes some time for yourself where you can be quiet and breathe before you jump into your day? It really is so vital to our over all heart, body, mind relationship to have some thing, no matter how small that we do just for us each morning.
This morning I woke up and put the kettle on, like I do everyday. Next, I turned and saw my phone plugged in and turned off on the counter. I contemplated for an instant, turning on my phone but then I remembered that I had received a text message the night before and regardless of the message I received (which included some heaviness), I was reminded about ALL that is going on out there in the world and all that also comes my way, all day every day in the form of communicating with others. I said to myself out loud “nope, I will go tend to myself first and set up my day before I turn my phone on”.
If we give too much of our time to devices they will continue to allure us. Most mornings I head right to my treatment room and commence my morning practices. Other mornings, I will turn on my phone first and take a glance for a minute or 2 before my practices. Today, I reminded myself that I not only LOVE my daily practices, but how powerful they are. When I meditate, do energy releasing treatments, breath work and thank you practices, I am a much better version of myself after – I have spent time raising my vibration, creating extra mental clarity and spent time quietly with my spirit, pure self love! So today I thought, well I could jump into my day as I am feeling now – which was pretty darn good and happy OR I could do my practices and then open myself to the world in a much more elevated way.
The more experiences I have, the more I feel that every moment is perfect, of course it is, whether I have taken time to deepen my clarity or not. But what I really love about my commitment to my daily practices, is that I am choosing for me, to feel as good as I can before encounter the world and the day to come and that just feels really good. When you repeat that morning ritual day after day, the life that you are, expands within you, your happiness soars and you feel an invisible contentment growing strong inside you that will ALWAYS support you.
Below are a few ideas on how to get started if you just don’t know where to begin with a daily pracitce.
There are many way to feel good. Meditation has kept me balanced for over 16 years now, but you do not have to choose to meditate. For example, a long time friend of mine runs every day for like an hour, that is her way of connecting with herself, she loves it completely and it is important for her well being that she runs.
I know others (myself included) who do a “thank you” practice each evening before bed and each morning – listing all they are thankful for – this is a very sweet and simple yet powerful little practice on it’s own.

Meditation as I mentioned is what I call my mainstay practice, I do it every day but Sundays and I also add in other practices, but if I don’t have time for the other practices, then I only meditate. I teach a meditation workshop for beginners, it is focused at teaching HOW TO COMMIT and ESTABLISH a daily practice. The steps I teach are very simple and anyone can follow them. You can email me or watch for emails from me on the next date. Lastly, there are tons of free meditations and apps you can use that offer guided meditations – my advice, browse until you find one that FEELS right for you, it’s just like when you order a dish at a restaurant, your body is saying “I want that, that feels good to me”, listen to the impulses you feel and follow them. One piece of advice – commit to the practice every day for at least 30 days and see what you notice about how you feel and communicate and think – if you are not noticing changes in yourself and find you are repeating the same behaviours, then either increase your practice time or find another one.
I hope you found this post inspiring. Lara
