Commitment to your practice is invaluable support
Good morning! today I want to chat about a daily spiritual practice. Lately I’ve been watching my daily practice change sometimes from month to month and the reasons they change are exciting. I hope you will find some benefit from reading this post.
A daily spiritual practice is a practice you do every day for a chosen amount of time. The core purpose may be different for everyone. For me and from my experience I have seen that it strengthens me as a woman. It has made me happier, helped me let go of damaging mental and emotional pain and anxiety, it’s made me way more patient, open, kinder, more loving and to date a much better friend and partner. I think that’s an amazing list so far and there is much more I could share. Your practice grounds and aligns you more and more with each passing day with who you really are. It provides powerful and invaluable tools that will assist you in coping with whatever challenges arise. In addition your practice will naturally grow you into the man or woman you want to be. The question is, are you willing to commit? Not for a week or 2, but with loyalty every single day, no matter what? I see many people start a practice and when something comes up in their day or if they get a little bit busier the first thing they do is ditch their practice. Once you begin to experience the benefits of a practice you will come to recognize it’s value and feel that this kind of power can come from no where else but through committed practice. You will want to put it first in your day no matter what and when you can arrive at that place, you’re in for a real wonderful life experience.
Your spiritual practice ought to resonate with you, from the time you spend with it to what you are doing during that time. For example, I just came back from Tulum, Mexico. It was a bit of a stressful trip as my partner and I were dealing with lawyers and local government offices to do with our property there on a nearly daily basis and we do not speak the language. Waking up each day, I spent 15-30 minutes doing a practice that I resonated with most given what I was experiencing. For me it felt best to do 20-30 minutes of yoga, followed by 5-10 minutes of alternate nostril breathing. Moving my body through yoga poses and breathing in a focused way are both combinations that move a lot of energy through the body in a powerful way. They are also both amazing practices for increasing mental clarity, of which I needed daily. All in all this practice gave me the support I needed on a daily basis and to me that is invaluable.
When you have your own daily spiritual practice you begin to remember that all the strength and support you need is already there for you, deep inside you. Your practice is what aids you in tapping into your true power. When you have cultivated a daily practice for a while, you begin to feel naturally supported, you feel spacious inside and much happier. For me I have notice that while I do ask for support at times from others, I know now that the main source of my strength comes from my daily practice. My commitment to my daily practices over the past 16 years have given me the strength to come through some very difficult times. Each time I go through a big challenge in life, I deal with it differently because my practices are always evolving and growing me. Life is so much better and easeful with a supportive daily practice.
Your practice can be anything you wish. Sitting for 5 minutes appreciating all the good in your life. Focused breathing for 5 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of stillness meditation. You could write for 15-30 minutes clearing your mind. You could do 5 yoga poses for 3 minutes each along with focused breathing or gratitude practice. You may just sit and marvel at the beautiful trees blowing in the wind for 5 minutes. Whatever brings you clarity, and makes you feel better day after day, is what will be best for you. Get creative, google some ideas, ask me, I have an endless list of practices I create and re-create all the time.
Thanks for reading, I would love to hear any feed back. Please let me know if you have any questions, they are always welcome, Lara.
