Try?

When I travelled to India in 2003, I was at a gathering of friends one night and I will never forget a guy who leaned over and put his hand on the neck of a wine bottle. He said “you don’t try to pick up a bottle of wine to pour it” then he picked it up and poured some. He said ” you either pick it up, or you don’t.” That statement has always stayed with me. We try yoga for the first time and then it becomes a practice, or it doesn’t. To say “I’m trying to loose weight” or “trying to study this book” is really taking ourselves out, we are letting ourselves down in speaking this way, no change can come. If we want to do anything, we need to commit fully and completely to only one thing at a time, to master something or a way of being, we must laser focus on the end result and see it in our minds eye. Anything less is a waste of time and energy. You have the power in you to create anything you wish, your cells and Spirit are always listening to you, what you think and say are absorbed and this is the first thing to become aware of. Once you ‘get’ that, what you say and think and do create your present reality, you will become very mindful of the way you communicate your wishes. Anything is possible and only with your focused attention can it be so.

I recently met with a friend who shared a new business idea and he said “I only want to do it if it’s going to be fun.” That way of thinking is telling the Universe “I only want success if it’s going to be fun”, they have made a mental choice that that is the only way or reason they will embark on their new business. If you truly want to do something and for it to be fun, successful and to be of service to others, you need to surrender fully and completely. If you are tuned into only one aspect of the fruits of your labour, your support from the Universe will drop all else, because the Universe supports your intention. We need to be open and flexible to all that this new and exciting venture can bring us, in every way, and most of all we must feel it in our bones, in our hearts that we must do this and now is the time. Do it with complete surrender and enthusiasim with no attachment to the outcome, or don’t to it. Two or more opposing emotions will not deliver, only sincere devotion will allow you to pick up and pour the essence of your dream. Now you can share it, now you have moved beyond trying.
