Lara teaches Hatha Yoga every Monday & Wednesday 7:30-8:30am and Yin Yoga on Fridays 7:-8pm & Sundays 1:30-2:30pm at YYOGA Kitsilano Location

Hey!  Thanks for coming to read about my story!

So…back in the day. I had an eating disorder for 10 years and didn’t even identify it was a problem. Worse, I kept it to myself, until I learned something was deeply wrong. I had zero boundaries…if someone told me ought to do XYZ with my life, I jumped in, putting their idea first with zero thought or consideration about whether another’s idea about my potential life work even resonated with me. My lack of self-worth was all but non existent. I was people pleaser queen and even though people often commented on my so called “good looks”, I could never look myself in the mirror and despised the sound of my voice.

Everyone told me how confident and strong I was but it was all a mask I’d learned to master and one that I did not now the real Lara hid behind. I suffered. I was highly emotional, reactionary and it all stemmed from a disfunctional childhood. 25 years ago, everything changed when a single thought dropped into my mind “you can think any thought you want”.  For many years and up until today, I deeply love and accept myself and make choices that are beneficial for me. I am 100% committed to feeling as good as I can, all day every day. When stress and challenge arise, as they do in life, I have a massive skill set of wisdom techniques and practices to draw upon that help me maintain  mental, emotional resiliency and happiness.
