If you do yoga, yoga will do you
In addition to my work with Bio-energy healing and Wisdom practices, I have been teaching yoga for over 17 years and have studied extensively in Canada, the US and India, as well as traveling throughout many other countries around the world. I am very passionate about teaching Yin Yoga, a style of yoga that stimulates the meridian system, energizes the organs and has the power to move energy any blocked energy to the surface of the body. Being a contemplative style of practice, Yin also brings deep openings when practiced regularly.
A little bit about Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is the complimentary practice to other yang styles of yoga as well as all active forms of exercise. In brief, the practitioner spends 3-5 minutes softening muscularly (when appropriate) in asanas (postures) that stimulate the deeper yin tissues through which the meridians (energy pathways) run through.
Each organ has it’s own meridian (s) and a regular yin practice will stimulate the flow of chi (energy) through these pathways releasing energetic emotional, mental and physical blockages, enhancing each organs function while enriching our overall well being.
I teach Yin yoga at Y Yoga at the West 6th & Fir location in Vancouver every Monday & Wednesday night at 7:15-8:30pm. I teach Hatha at the Kits Y Yoga location every Wednesday & Friday morning from 9:30-10:30am.
Each week I teach a different organ pair, of which there are 4 pairs. When you commit to your practice you will have the opportunity to balance and energetically harmonize both the meridians and organs. The organ pairs are: kidney/urinary bladder, liver/gallbladder, stomach/spleen, heart/lung/intestine.
