YIN YOGA

If you do yoga, yoga will do you

In addition to my Coaching & Mentoring work,  I have been teaching yoga for over 24 years and have studied extensively in Canada, the US and India, as well as traveling throughout many other countries around the world. I am very passionate about teaching Yin Yoga, a style of yoga that stimulates the meridian system, energizes the organs and has the power to move any blocked energy to the surface of the body to be released. Being a contemplative style of practice, Yin also brings deep openings when practiced regularly.

A little bit about Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is the complimentary practice to other yang styles of yoga as well as all active forms of exercise. In brief, the practitioner spends 3-5 minutes softening muscularly (when appropriate) in asanas (postures) that stimulate the deeper yin tissues through which the meridians (energy pathways) run through.

Each organ has it’s own meridian (s) and a regular yin practice will stimulate the flow of chi (energy) through these pathways releasing energetic emotional, mental and physical blockages, enhancing each organs function while enriching our overall well being.

I teach Yin at the YYOGA Kitsilano location on Fridays at 7:00-8:00pm and Sundays from 1:30-2:30pm.  Each week in my Yin class I teach a different organ pair, of which there are 4 pairs. When you commit to your practice you will have the opportunity to balance and energetically harmonize both the meridians and organs. The organ pairs are: kidney/urinary bladder, liver/gallbladder, stomach/spleen, heart/lung/intestine. I teach Hatha at the YYOGA Kitsilano location on Monday & Wednesdays 8:00-9:00am.

Practice Yoga so you can keep doing what you’ve always done!
